Brave Nchanga Rangers lost by a goal to nil to Indeni football Club in a nail-biting encounter played at Indeni Sports Complex on Sunday.
Nchanga Rangers, FC MUZA, Red Arrows, and Kabwe Warriors are among the 2024 ABSA Cup semifinalists.
The home side took the lead in the 44th minute through a well taken penalty by birthday celebrating Jonathan Munalula, to maintain Indeni’s unbeaten run.
After today’s defeat, the Chingola based side have amassed 58 points from 28 matches played in the second-tier league so far. Nchanga have recorded 18 wins, drawing four and losing 6 matches.
The Rangers gaffer Robert Tembo told the media that the team remains prepared for tough encounters as the season draws to a close.
“The team is really prepared very well you know these games you are just from playing a game so for sure our preparation after recovering is more of mental strength and so far, so good we are in sharp,” he said.
Tembo is confident the team will remain focused during the last matches of the 2023-24 soccer season.
He stated, “The message is always to stay focused and work hard because these games are very tough and difficult for us, especially because you are playing teams that are also elite league contenders.”
