Rangers’ return to Elite league excites KCM boss, pledges support

If Rangers defeat Kitwe United on Saturday, they will be crowned the National Division One Champions for 2023–24.

Nchanga Rangers participated in the 2024 ABSA Cup competition and had a fantastic season, however in the semifinals they lost to Red Arrows, the eventual winners.

Rangers demoted last year from Zambian Super League currently tops the league table with 65 points from 33 matches played so far and the team has set its eyes on bagging the league championship.

This impressive performance has excited Konkola Copper Mines Incoming Chief Operating officer, Malcom Mewett, who has since assured the side of continued support from Management. 

Mewett who has commended the team for securing promotion to the Super League hosted a luncheon for the side at the KCM Director’s Lodge in Chingola. 

“For next season I think it will start off on a positive note, for me personally and I know the executive also we want to support Nchanga Rangers.

“Nothing would please me more next year is to watch Konkola blades and Nchanga Rangers in two local derbies. I think this would be the total success for KCM, I think we want all to see that. I wish you all the best in your off season and looking forward to seeing you all next season,” he said.
