Prison Leopards Head Coach Justin Chinama believes his team still has a chance of securing promotion to the Super League in their remaining three fixtures.
“We still have a chance, we have to play three games before the Season comes to an end and if we work hard and collect maximum points then we will find ourselves in the top four of the Log standings,” he said.
“The morale among the players is high they are all fighting for the same agenda. Our job now is to work hard and on the pitch and ensure we collect the much needed results which is very possible,” said Chinama.
The Correct Boys are currently sixth in the standings with 47 points from 31 matches and are eyeing a possible fourth-place finish that would secure them promotion to the Elite League.
A full nine points from their remaining three games would take them to 56 — two points ahead of Trident FC, who sit on 54 and have just one game remaining. For promotion to happen, Prison Leopards will also need Trident to drop points.
Prison Leopards will take on Chambishi FC in a must-win midweek fixture to keep their hopes alive.
The Kabwe-based side heads into the match with boosted morale, following a 2–0 victory over Aguila Stars.
So far this season, Chinama’s side has won 13 games, drawn 8, and lost 10, showing signs of inconsistency throughout the campaign.
After today’s match, they will host Kafue Eagles on Saturday at President Stadium in Kabwe.
