Mulutula, a former Kafue Celtic captain, has so far scored 12 goals for the log leaders, which is four better than Benjamin Chisala’s tally of 8 goals.
The striker has said that he is not satisfied with the number of goals he has scored so far and wants to add more when the league resumes next weekend.
“My personal goal for this season is to score a lot of goals,” Mulutula told Nchanga Rangers Media. “I know I have scored a lot of goals so far, but it is not enough for me as a striker. I want to make a record that has never been made here at the club by scoring more goals.”
“The only way to make teammates, coaches, and fans believe in me is by doing the right thing as a striker: scoring goals. My personal goal is to be the top scorer for the whole league,” he said.
‘Nchanga Rangers deserves to play in CAF’- Mulutula
Mulutula, who joined the two-time Super League Champions at the beginning of the current campaign, and Nchanga Rangers deserve to play in the top flight because they are one of the biggest clubs in Zambian football history.
“I think it is the right decision I made to join the Nchanga Rangers,” he said. “Being the top scorer for the club and the whole league in the National League, which is next to the Premier League, is a special feeling.
“I want to be remembered as one of the strikers that took the club to where it belongs [the Super League]. And I want to be remembered as one of the good strikers by scoring goals. I know this team deserves to be playing African tournaments such as CAF [Champions & Confederation].”
Of the 12 goals he has scored, Mulutula has bagged two hattricks this season, the most for any striker in National Division One.
The striker scored a brace against Jumulo Football Club on December 9, 2023, to help Nchanga Rangers book a place in this year’s ABSA Cup championship.
On December 23, 2023, Mulutula scored another brace, this time against Kitwe United at Nchanga Stadium, as the hosts recorded a 4-nil win.
He will now look to pick up where he left off when the league resumes.
