Kansanshi Dynamos coach Zeddy Saileti is not getting carried away with his side’s big win over Green Buffaloes in the ABSA Cup as they shift attention to the league with a tie against Kitwe United on Wednesday.
On Sunday, Kansanshi beat Super League side Green Buffaloes 4–1 in the round of 16 of the ABSA Cup, but they now have to change gears and face Kitwe United.
Kitwe are struggling and sit 11th in the National Division One, nine places behind promotion-chasing Kansanshi.
Saileti has told Bolanews in an interview that his players need to get over the win against Green Buffaloes and focus on the league match as they chase promotion
“We have set the signal that everyone expects us to win the game tomorrow [Wednesday] but it is not easy. We have done our part, we have psyched them that they should not underrate Kitwe United,” he said.
Saileti anticipates a tough match against Kitwe
Saileti expects a tough match against Kitwe United, a side that is fighting to maintain its National League status.
“National League is different from Super League, the players understand that so we need to apply ourselves. These teams [like Kitwe United] are difficult to play, they have done well in the last three or four games, so it won’t be easy,” he said.
A win for Kansanshi will edge them close to sealing promotion and keep them in the run to win the National League trophy. They only need four points to gain promotion to the MTN Super League.
