The FAZ National Division One Playoff’s sponsors, Fredrobie Concept Zambia, intend to extend an invitation to a European club to join them as a guest team in the playoffs the next season.
Since the company and the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) signed a collaboration deal in November of last year, every side competing in the National Division One playoffs has received K100,000 ($4,000) as their prize.
The agreement, which is worth K1.5 million ($60,000), has a five-year term with an option to renew.
FAZ and the marketing firm will split all playoff-related expenses, such as match organization, officiating fees, security, and other relevant costs.
The proposal to invite a European club to the National Division One playoffs is scheduled to be implemented in the 2025 season, according to Stanley Kasiya, Chief Executive Officer of Fredrobie.
Kasiya states that either a European club or an active player will visit Zambia during the playoff tournament.
He added that this is in a bid to promote sports tourism and enhance Zambia’s outlook on the outside world.
Fredrobie future plans.
“Come 2025, we want to see one team coming from Europe to be the guest team at the playoff. We believe that when this happens, it will not only change the landscape of sports but also tourism,” Kasiya said.
“If we don’t manage to bring at least a team from Europe, Asia, or any other, we can at least bring one of the active sports athletes, whom the young and the old will have something to talk about.”
Kasiya reveals that this will also help market Zambia as a pre-season destination for reputable clubs from Africa and across the globe.

“We would love to see a lot of influential players come to Zambia and a lot of top clubs come to Zambia and have their offseason training. This will create a different atmosphere, socially and economically,” he stated.
