Ahmed Soliman, a former head coach of Mufulira Wanderers Football Club, has been named Aguila Stars’ new technical advisor in the ZPL National League.
The Egyptian coach’s most memorable was with Mufulira Wanderers in 2016, when he helped the team avoid relegation with two games remaining.
Soliman has previously coached in Tanzania, taking charge of Tabora United and Fountain Gate Football Clubs.
As a technical advisor, Soliman is responsible for providing technical expertise and strategic insights to improve the growth of players on the women’s and youth teams.
“In his new role, Soliman will work closely with Head Coach Lwipa and his coaching staff, providing technical expertise and strategic insights to further enhance the team’s performance,” the club stated in a statement.
“Additionally, he will play a crucial role in implementing the club’s football philosophy and fostering player development across the senior team, the U19 and U16 squads and the women’s team.”
Prior to his official employment, Soliman was instrumental in the team’s four victories, three draws, and one loss.
“Though officially joining the club in an official capacity now, Soliman has already been contributing behind the scenes for the past eight matches. His influence has been instrumental in Aguila Stars’ recent strong performances, helping the team secure four wins, three draws, and just one loss, while conceding only two goals during this period,” the club stated.
