After scoring a 12-minute hat-trick in Atlético Sanluqueo’s 5-0 league victory over Belaeres, Francisco Mwepu extended his incredible goal streak.
Since moving on loan from Cadiz CF to Spanish third tier team Atlético Sanluqueo, the Zambian international has scored six goals in four appearances.
Mwepu made his debut for Cadiz as a substitute against Villarreal CF in the 70th minute of the previous campaign, becoming the first player from Zambia to compete in the top division of Spain.
With six goals this month, including three on Sunday, the 23-year-old has left no stone untouched in the Primera Federacion.
With a goal at the 24-minute mark, Mwepu doubled the lead started by Lex Guti. Later, after sprinting toward goal and easily outmuscling Roman Vila, the striker scored another goal.
The Copper Bullet was having a field day for Sanluqueño as he sealed his first-half hat-trick in a space of only 12 minutes. Mwepu was greeted with a standing ovation by the home crowd as he exited the pitch in the 68th minute.
Ultimately, Sanluqueo won the match 5-0, moving them into a playoff berth in the Primera Federacion Group 2 standings.
Fans salute Mwepu
Fans have been amazed by Mwepu’s electric form this season, with some calling out Cadiz for the season-long loan transfer.
Sergio Butrón applauded, “Hattrick in 12 minutes 😳. Cadiz did well to renew [Mwepu’s contract] until 2026.”
“Francisco Mwepu is the new Mbappe”, Ismargo added.
Despite Cadiz CF also having an impressive start to the season, fans believe the other strikers left at the club are not scoring enough goals.

GonzaloLQ complained, “Cadiz CF is wasting the opportunity to take back Francisco Mwepu and play him in the first division [La Liga]. He has goals in him, something neither [Sergi] Guardiola nor Roger [Martí] have.”
