Zambia women’s national team striker Grace Chanda has sent an emotional farewell message to her former club, Biik Kayzgurt.
This comes a day after she was unveiled by the Spanish club, Madrid CFF as their new player after signing the striker on a two-year deal from the Kazakhstan side for an undisclosed fee.
In her message, Chanda assures Kazygurt that they will forever remain in her heart because of their hospitality.
First of all, thank you BIIK Kazygurt, I found you as champions, and leave you as champions, what an amazing club you were to me amazing Grace and the people of Shymkent!
From the bottom of my heart, I want to say thank you very much for all the support that you gave me. You were the first team to welcome me in my foreign football journey and I can never forget the first day I stepped into your facilities.
Wrote Chanda on her Facebook page.
Chanda left Kazygurt two weeks after scoring a hat-trick for them in the UEFA Champions League preliminary rounds when they thumped Croatia’s ZNK Split 5-1.
She spent only a season at Kazygurt but will be remembered for setting a new record as the first Zambian in football history to score a hat-trick in the UEFA champions league while at the club.
The Copper Queens star will now start a new chapter in her career in Spain at the same club with her countrymate Racheal Kundananji who was also signed by Madrid CFF last month from SD Eibar.
