Zambia U17 Men’s National team, coach Ian Bakala says his squad is in a difficult group for the 2025 FIFA World Cup.
The young Chipolopolo boys qualified for their first ever U17 World Cup during the recently held 2025 U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
Zambia, Brazil, Honduras, and Indonesia are in Group H.
Speaking in a telephone interview with ZNBC, Bakala said the group is a challenging one, hence they will need to prepare adequately.
“It’s a group of death and it’s a tight group you know at this stage any group can qualify to the second round. For us the most important thing is the preparation, how we are going to prepare to be ready when we are there,”said Bakala.
He called for adequate preparations ahead of the junior World Cup.
“All We Need Is Support” – Bakala.
“The only thing we are looking at is the MRI you may find that a good player you need him in the team, but the player didn’t go through the MRI which is becoming very difficult for us as coaches and alot of people have been complaining about our players,”he said.
The Caps United Boss has promised to perform better at the World Cup.
“These players are young they just have to be together for a period of time, at the Afcon we had challenges with some positions and obviously we will look at it this time. All we need is support and we will do better,” promised Bakala.
Meanwhile, for the first time the competition will have 48 teams expected to participate in the tournament and will take place in Qatar from 3rd to 27th November 2025.
