Argentina finally ended a 36-year quest for the World Cup title in Qatar.

After achieving his fondest dream by winning the World Cup, Lionel Messi spoke to the media and said that winning the World Cup has always been his childhood goal.

The 35-year-old Argentine captain also talked about his future with the national team and said he will not be retiring soon.
“I am not retiring from the Argentina National Team. “I want to continue playing as a champion,” he said.
Since his debut in 2005, Messi has appeared 172 times for the Albiceleste and scored 98 goals.
The triumph by Argentina on Sunday night put an end to Europe’s string of four consecutive World Cup victories as Brazil was the last South American country to win the World Cup in 2002.
Argentina also became the third most successful team in World Cup history, trailing only Brazil, who won the tournament five times, Italy, and Germany, both of whom won it four times.
