On Sunday, Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho scored with a stunning overhead kick in Manchester United’s 3-1 win over Everton.
The 19-year-old, who idolizes Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, celebrated his goal the same way as the Al Nassar forward.
Despite playing with Lionel Messi on the same national team, Garnacho has not hidden his preference for Ronaldo.
Last year, in April, the Manchester United youngster referred to Ronaldo as the greatest of all time in an Instagram post, which caused him backlash from his compatriots.
It was the same when fans noticed that Messi had unfollowed him on Instagram.
However, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has claimed to have been told by the Garnacho that Messi unfollowed the teenager because he is a Ronaldo fan.
“You know what I like about him? He doesn’t give a f*ck. Garnacho told me that Messi unfollowed him just because he makes no secret of preferring Ronaldo. He comes out, don’t care, ‘I’m a Ronaldo man’. Who’s the GOAT? Ronaldo. (Even) when he’s in the Argentina squad,” Ferdinand said on his Vibe with Five YouTube channel
