English Premier League side Manchester United needed a second half reaction to overturn a 1-0 first half deficit in the Europa League on Thursday night in Cyprus in their Group E third match against Omonia Nocosia.
United who were coming from a 5-2 bashing in the Premier League to rivals Manchester City last weekend conceded in the 34th minute when Karim Ansarifard fired Omonia in the lead.
It was in the second half after Marcus Rashford and Antony Martial where brought in when the English side finally equalized after a massive scare in the first 45 minutes of the match.
Rashford and Martial scored in the 53rd and 63rd minutes to put the visiting side in the lead.
Cristiano Ronaldo who was left frustrated after 7 seven unsuccessful shots on goal, contributed with an assist when his shot reached Rashford who made no mistake to channel it into the net and extend United’s lead to 1-3 in the 84th minute.
Just when the match was almost ending with only five minutes remaining, Omonia pulled one back through Nikolas Panayiotou to end the match 2-3.
United have now moved into second position in Group E with 6 points below Spansih side, Real Sociedad who also defeated FC Sheriff 0-2 to top the group with 9 points.
