Erik Ten Hag and his Manchester United charges came from behind to defeat Barcelona 2-1 in the second leg of their Europa League knockout stage tie, to advance to the competition’s last 16 as the match ended 4-3 on aggregate.
Robert Lewandowski scored from the penalty spot before Fred equalized for United in the second half, and Antony delivered the winner in the 73rd minute.
The defeat was Barcelona’s first loss in any competition since October when they lost 0-3 to Bayern in the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Ten Hag described the victory as the greatest win of his tenure so far at Old Trafford.
He said that United had recorded important victories but last night’s win was the best.
“Barcelona are the leaders of La Liga, eight points ahead of Real Madrid, we have seen what Real Madrid did this week. I think it’s a big win, yes! that we beat them.”
“We have had some good wins, Liverpool and Arsenal at home really good wins, but I think this is the best over two legs, one tie,” he told BT Sports after the game.

Manchester United are now unbeaten at Old Trafford in 18 games dating back to September last year.
Ten Hag’s side now shifts their attention to Wembley, where they take on Newcastle United in the EFL Cup final on Sunday as they seek to win their first silverware since 2017.
