Two of Zambia’s national team players will be in action tonight for their clubs in the Europa League and UEFA Conference League respectively.
Midfielder Edward Chilufya will be in action in the Europa League with Midtjylland while Klings Kangwa will miss tonight when his Red Star Belgrade face Ferencvaros of Hungary.
Emmanuel Banda is expected to play in the UEFA Conference league with his Swedish side Djurgardens IF.
EWARD CHILUFYA’S MIDTJYLLAND VS FEYENOORD
After thrashing Italian side Lazio 5-1 in their last Group F match, Midtylland to beat Netherland’s Feyenoord clash tonight and aim at topping the group.
Feyenoord have won 6 of their last 10 matches in all competitions while Midtjylland have only won two matches from their last 6 games.
With all the teams in Group F level on 3 points each, they will fight for the top spot in the Group with Lazio and Austrian side Sturm Graz also battling it out in the match.
Meanwhile, this will be the first meeting ever in competitive football between Feyenoord and Midtylland and Zambia’s Chilufya will hope to get some minutes and aim to score his first goal in the competition.
He has made 2 appearances so far and only played 12 minutes in the last match against Lazio.
Klings Kangwa’s Crevena Zvezda vs Ferencvaros
Crevena Zvezda (Red star Belgrade) have had a poor start to the campaign in the Europa League having lost both their first team group H, 0-1 to Monaco and 2-1 to Trabzonspor.
The Serbian side are rock bottom in the group with no point and hope to fustrate group leaders Ferencvaros who are yet to record a loss in the competition having won both their first two matches.
The Hungary side defeated Monaco 0-1 away and also thrashed Trabzonspor 3-1 to head into tonight’s match as favourites.
Meanwhile, Zambia’s Klings Kangwa will miss this match after reciving a red card in his last match against Trabzonspor.
Emmanuel Banda’s Djurgardens Vs Gent
Djurgardens recorded their first win in the UEFA Conference League before the international break after beating Norwegian side Molde FK 3-1 in a match which Zambain midfielder Emmanuel Banda score to become the second Zambian to score in the competition after Patson Daka.
Djurgardens are sitting in second position level on 4 points with Group leaders KAA GENT who will head into this match with two consecutive defeats in the Belgian league.
Both teams will look to take the top spot by ensuring maxium points are collected at the Ghelamco Arena in Gent.
Europa League fixtures
Meanwhile, Manchester United and Arsenal are some of the top European clubs that will be in action tonight in the Europa League.
Arsenal are yet to lose or draw this season in the Europa League having won their first match against FC Zuruch 1-2, while United lost 0-1 at home to Spanish side Real Sociedad will look to win their second match tonight when they meet Cyprus side Omonia.
