Erik ten Hag believes his team must demonstrate what has changed on the field since their last meeting with Manchester City.
“Last time we didn’t do well, and we have to do it better,” Erik ten Hag said in a press conference.
Since the league’s return after the World Cup, Manchester United have been in splendid form, having won all six of their matches across all competitions.
On the other, Pep Guardiola’s team has won four of their past six games overall since the world cup finished, drew once, and lost their most recent game, 2-0, to Southampton.
City defeated the Red Devils 6-3 earlier in the season and they will look to do a double away from home this afternoon.
With a win, Ten Hag’s team will move up to third position in the log standings with 38 points, while City, who are now in second place with 39 points, will cut the gap on the leaders Arsenal to two points.
City’s manager Pep Guardiola also said: ” We know exactly what we are supposed to do in this match. I have some ridiculous ideas that we might implement in the derby.”
Although City will be eager to complete a Premier League double over the home team in the Derby for the sixth time, which would be more frequently than any other team in the competition’s history, the Red Devils are only four points behind their rivals and will equally die a little especially since they are playing at the Old Trafford in front of their home fans.
