Liverpool is currently in talks with Newcastle to land Alexander Isak. The Swedish marksman played an instrumental role in ensuring Newcastle secured their first trophy in 56 years.
This came at the expense of his possible suitors, Liverpool, as Arne Slot’s men lost 2-1.
Isak scored 23 goals and provided 6 assists last season. He is considered untouchable by Newcastle but might leave St James’ Park for the right price.
According to multiple reports, the Reds are set to submit a whopping £120 million bid.
Liverpool have had quite an industrious transfer window following the departure of local hero Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer to Real Madrid. Jeremie Frimpong arrived from Bayer Leverkusen as a replacement in the right-back position.
Liverpool FC have also strengthened their attack with the addition of Florian Wirtz, another former Bayer Leverkusen man.
The 22-year-old playmaker will most certainly cause problems for opposition defences.
Liverpool have boosted their options at left-back by acquiring the services of Milos Kerkez from AFC Bournemouth.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Freddie Woodman was snapped up on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract at Preston North End. The 28-year-old experienced goalkeeper will offer more options in the goalkeeping department.
Should Liverpool add Isak to that list of acquisitions this summer, they certainly have what it takes to defend the Premier League title and dominate Europe.
