Everton will be hosting title contenders Liverpool in fixture 34 of the premier league on Wednesday night. The Reds can’t afford any more slip ups at this crucial time of the league. Last week Jurgen Klopp’s men bounced back from two very disappointing back-to-back losses. First to Atalanta and then to Crystal palace both at Anfield that left fans absolutely deflated and almost giving up. They finally found some form and have now won their last two away matches bringing them back in second place behind the gunners.
Everton sit 16th on the league table with just 5 points above relegation. They are having one of the worst seasons ever. They have already been docked eight points this season due to two breaches of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules and they could face a third deduction next season. However, they have not lost any hope of staying up and they proved this in their last game by beating Nottingham Forest 2 nil.
The last Mersyside derby was in October last year and Liverpool won that one 2 nil courtesy of a brace from Salah who’s currently looking out of form. This could be Evertons chance to take advantage and get their revenge or at least make life more difficult for their Premier league rivals.
