Arsenal finally got their long-awaited Premier League win against Manchester City on Sunday when they handed Pep Guardiola’s side a 1-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium.
The match was evenly contested in the entire first half, with only one shot on target for City.
However, in the second half, substitute Gabriel Martinelli’s deflected effort sealed a late victory for the Gunners in the 86th minute.
The win meant Arsenal ended a run of 12 straight league losses against City.
Mikel Arteta’s side defeated the treble winners of last season for the first time since 2015.
City have also lost two Premier League matches in a row for the first time since 2018.
The Gunners now sit second in the log standings below Tottenham Hotspur who they level on 20 points but separated on goal difference.
The Cityzens, on the other hand, are sitting third with 18 points from eight games having lost to Wolves and Arsenal so far this season.
