The Arsenal contingent, among others, was honored for its outstanding contributions to football in the last 12 months.

Managers and football players of Premier League clubs based in London battled it out for the awards.

The awards ceremony was held on March 13th at the Roundhouse in Chalk Farm, London.

Unsurprisingly, Mikel Arteta walked away with the Manager of the Year award for being at the summit of the Premier League table.

The Spanish gaffer beat the West London trio of Chelsea’s Emma Hayes, Brentford’s Thomas Frank, and Fulham’s Marco Silva to the award.

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard followed suit with his manager by landing the Premier League Player of the Year award. The Norwegian finished ahead of Bukayo Saka, Harry Kane, Alexsandar Mitrovic, and Ivan Toney.

Aaron Ramsdale, who has produced some valuable saves this season, was the recipient of the Goalkeeper of the Year award.

The league leaders completed the quadruple when Bukayo Saka was named the Men’s Young Player of the Year. Meanwhile, the Women’s Young Player of the Year award was bagged by Lauren James.

Chelsea’s highly-rated striker, Sam Kerr, added the FA Women’s Player of the Year to her never-ending collection of accolades.

Heung Min Son, who has a reputation for scoring goals worthy of winning the FIFA Puskas award, won the 2023 LFA Goal of the Season prize. The South Korean was honored for one of his two spectacular long-range strikes against Leicester City in September.

Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, the England Women’s National Team, Mark Noble, and Paul Smyth also left the prestigious ceremony with accolades of their own.

What’s next for the Londoners?

Arsenal will now shift their attention to the Premier League title race. On the hand, their North London rivals Tottenham continue to chase a UEFA Champions League spot.

Chelsea FC’s men’s team has a Champions League quarterfinal next month. And their women’s team has Super League title to defend.

Meanwhile, Brentford and Fulham battle for European qualification while Crystal Palace and West Ham United fight for survival.
