Chipolopolo striker Patson Daka netted his first goal of the season, guiding Leicester City to a 2–1 victory over promotion hopefuls Stoke City in Saturday’s EFL Championship fixture.
Daka, who had last scored for Leicester on December 3, 2024, against West Ham United in the Premier League, ended his goal drought in style. He latched onto a through-ball from Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and deftly lifted his finish over the advancing goalkeeper—a strike that ultimately proved to be the match-winner.
The match also featured an opener from Stephy Mavididi, the English forward of Congolese descent.
Daka’s latest contribution brings his tally to one goal and two assists in 16 appearances this season.
With the win, Leicester stretched their unbeaten run to three matches and rose to 10th place on the table, sitting on 24 points from 16 games.
