The Cosafa-bound Zambia national team on Monday evening lost 3-1 to Morocco U23 national team in an international friendly match in Rabat.
The Chipolopolo boys who will be making their 20th appearance at the 2023 Cosafa tournament will be seeking to replicate last year’s performance and continue with their regional dominance as they aim for the seventh title.
Zambia was using the two friendly games to prepare for the 2023 COSAFA Cup tournament scheduled to begin next month in Durban.
The Chipolopolo boys are grouped with Malawi, Seychelles, and Comoros, three neighbors.
In the meantime, despite losing all two friendly matches, midfielder Golden Mashata believes the friendly games were a learning curve for the young players and remains hopeful the team will do better at the tournament.
