The Football Association of Zimbabwe (ZIFA) has announced that its national team will take part in a four-nation tournament alongside Zambia, Botswana, and Malawi.
The tournament will be held in Botswana from 23 to 31 March 2026 at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown.
“The Football Associations of Zimbabwe, Botswana, Malawi and Zambia are pleased to confirm the participation of their respective Senior Men’s National Teams in the Botswana 4 Nations Tournament, scheduled for 23 to 31 March 2026 at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown,” ZIFA said in a statement on Wednesday.
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has not yet confirmed its participation despite ZIFA’s announcement.
Zambia, who are yet to win a match since October 8, 2025, will be using the tournament as part of their preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). However, there are uncertainties surrounding the team’s head coach, with BolaNews sources confirming that Moses Sichone, who was appointed before the AFCON in Morocco, has been removed from his role.
Although FAZ has not yet confirmed this, it is understood that a new coach is expected to be appointed.d to be appointed for the Chipolopolo role ahead of the September AFCON qualifiers.
