Songa Chipyoka found the back of the net in Hapoel Petah Tikva’s 1-1 draw with Ashdod in the Israeli Premier League on Saturday. The winger got the better of the opposition backline before sprinting towards goal and burying his shot at the far post.

Chipyoka has returned six goals and an assist in 12 matches played in all club competitions this term.

Elsewhere, Joseph Liteta became the youngest Zambian player to debut in the Italian Serie A at 19 after featuring in Cagliari Calcio’s starting XI against Hellas Verona.

In Estonia, Benjamin Chisala has continued to fire on all cylinders for Nomme United in the Esiliga, scoring a brace in an 8-0 victory against JK Tallinna Kalev U21. He has netted six goals in seven games for the club since joining them on loan from Atletico Lusaka FC in August. His compatriot, Ricky Chanda, was an unfielded substitute on Sunday.

Joshua Mutale, on the other hand, started Simba SC’s goalless stalemate with Nsingizini Hotspur in the CAF Confederations Cup. The Tanzanian giants made it to the group stage with an overall 3-0 win after both legs.

In the United States, Aime Mabika was credited with an assist after heading the ball off his teammate in a 2-1 defeat to New Mexico United in the USL Championship. Mabika and co. secured qualification to the playoffs of the competition after finishing 7th. In stark contrast, Stoppila Sunzu continues to battle relegation with Changchun Yatai, clocking 90 minutes in their 2-2 draw with Jinmen Tiger.

Kings and Emmanuel Banda go head-to-head in a midfield battle

Kings Kangwa and Emmanuel Banda, who often start together in the Chipolopolo midfield, slugged it out in the middle of the park during a clash between Hapoel Be’er Sheva and Maccabi Bnei Reyne. Joseph Sabobo Banda missed Hapoel Be’er Sheva’s narrow win over Maccabi Bnei Reyne on Sunday.

In Georgia, Zambia U20 star Bonephanseo Phiri notched an assist, setting up Menteshashvili’s goal in Locomotive Tbilisi’s 1-1 draw with Merani Martvili. Frank Chileshe played the full match.

Meanwhile, Lameck Banda appeared from the bench for US Lecce, who fell 3-2 to Udinese in the Serie A. In England, Patson Daka made a cameo for Leicester City in their 1-0 loss to Millwall in the EFL Championship.
