Zambia stuck at 90th position in latest FIFA rankings

Morocco remains Africa's highest-ranked team, sitting sixth in the world, one place above Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal, who have dropped two positions.

Chipolopolo Boys have not made any movement in the latest FIFA rankings, with George Lwandamina’s men maintaining 90th position in the world.

Following the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, FIFA has released its latest rankings, with most teams that featured at the tournament either climbing or dropping places.

Understandably, Zambia, who remained inactive before and during the World Cup, has not registered any movement in the global rankings.

The Chipolopolo, whose last FIFA-recognized match was the 5-0 loss to Argentina on April 1, remain 90th with 1,264.09 points.

Meanwhile, Morocco remains Africa’s highest-ranked team, sitting sixth in the world, one place above Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal, who have dropped two positions.

There has also been a change at the summit, with Spain replacing Argentina as the world’s top-ranked team.

Closer to home, South Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo have each climbed five places to 56th and 41st, respectively.
