The Chipolopolo Boys have stepped up their preparations for next Friday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Morocco in Agadir. They will also host Tanzania’s Taifa Stars at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawansa Stadium for days later.

The majority of Avram Grant’s foreign-based players, including Leicester City attacker Patson Daka, Kings Kangwa, Emmanuel Banda, and Frankie Musonda, have already arrived in Lusaka for camp.

South Africa-based forward, Gamphani Lungu, who returned to the team after missing out on the final roster for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, is also already in Lusaka.

He told Journalists in Lusaka on Thursday at the National Heroes stadium that, “Training is going on really good; can’t complain. We had a few of the players just coming in today, which at least boosted everyone’s morale in the camp.”

Lungu added: “The assignments that we have ahead of us with Morocco and Tanzania are big games and we need to step up. We need to come to the party because the World Cup is something that everyone dreams of playing, so we want to get there and we will put in our whole selves for the nation.”

Gampani to respect coach’s decision if he misses final squad

The Super Sport United striker admitted that the game against Morocco will not be an easy one for the Copper Bullets in Agadir. He is also not worried about failing to make the final squad.

“It will be very tough, but we need the result. The squad is very tough I will put in my best and it’s upto the coach to make the final team. Even if am there or not, I believe in the team that is here.”

Lungu has featured in 22 matches this season, scored two goals, and provided two assists in the DSTV Premiership.

The Super Sport United striker played three games in the CAF Confederations Cup and managed to score one goal.
