Chipolopolo Boys midfielder Edward Chilufya says his team is not afraid to face a star-studded Morocco in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Sweden-based attacking midfielder and Young Africans SC striker Kennedy Musonda were the final two players to arrive at the Chipolopolo camp in Lusaka to complete Avram Grant’s 24-man team before departure for Morocco on Wednesday.

Zambia will face Morocco tomorrow before hosting Tanzania at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Tuesday next week.

Chilufya believes a win against Morocco will motivate the team ahead of the game at home against Tanzania.

“The games we are playing are very important,” he told FAZ media in an interview. “If we win against Morocco we will move to a better place…. And we will be motivated when we meet Tanzania. It will be an advantage to us …… Because we know how they play and it will be easy for us as we play them again,” he said.

Edward Chilufya scored in BK Hacken’s 4-1 victory over AIK on Sunday.

The BK Hacken attacker confidently stated that Zambia has what it takes to challenge Morocco’s star-studded squad.

“They can have big names and stars in their squad, but we also have what it takes to win the match. We are not playing for names; we have a mission to accomplish and we will play with our hearts out,” added Chilufya.

Chilufya enters the World Cup qualifiers after scoring in Hacken’s 4-1 victory over AIK in the Swedish league on Sunday.

Zambia is ranked second in Group E, with three points from two matches played, while Morocco leads the rankings with the same points but a goal difference after only two games.
