Eleven-time capped Chipolopolo goalkeeper Mwenya Chibwe has expressed delight at returning to the South African Premier League (PSL) following his move to Orbit College.
Chibwe, who previously featured for ZESCO United, had been a free agent after leaving the Ndola giants, where his second stint failed to yield any match appearances for the former Super League champions.
Last week, BolaNews revealed that the Zambian international had signed for Orbit College, marking his return to South Africa’s top flight with the Rustenburg-based side.
Speaking to BolaNews on Sunday, Chibwe said he was pleased with the move.
“I am happy to be part of the team. It is a deal that made sense to me because it is a team that has been in my hometown, northwest Rustenburg, so I have been away from home for a long time and also away from Mum, so I am just happy to be here,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chibwe made his debut for Orbit on Monday against the defending champions but was substituted in the 59th minute after sustaining an injury.
His injury came shortly after making an error that broke the deadlock for Mamelodi Sundowns in the first half. The match ended 2-0 in favour of the South African giants.
