Spanish side CD Leganés have loaned Chipolopolo defender David Hamasenya to Czech second-division club SK Artis Brno until June 2026.
The 18-year-old left-back joined Leganés in August last year, signing a four-year contract from Shamuel Academy after impressing at the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Hamasenya featured in all of Zambia’s matches at the tournament and later earned a senior national team call-up following his standout performances where he went on to play at the just-ended senior AFCON in Morocco.
Leganés included Hamasenya in parts of their preseason preparations, taking him to training camps in Mexico and the United States. However, he did not make a competitive appearance for the club’s first team in the Spanish second tier and was instead assigned to the development side.
SK Artis Brno revealed they closely monitored Hamasenya during AFCON, where he impressed them against top players such as Brahim Díaz, and believe he will play a key role in their squad.
“I believe that my move to Artis will help me take the next step,” Hamasenya said.
