Zambian international striker Kennedy Musonda has continued his impressive form for his Tanzania side, Young Africans SC (Yanga).
Musonda came off the bench to score the second goal in the 65th minute to help Yanga record a 3-0 victory against Tabora on Wednesday night in the Tanzanian CRDB Bank Federation Cup.
The 29-year-old joined the Tanzanian Giants in January 2023 from Power Dynamos and has been brilliant ever since.
Despite Yanga being eliminated from the CAF Champions League by Mamelodi Sundowns, Musonda managed to play eight games, scoring one goal and providing two assists in the competition.
In the Tanzanian Premier League, he has scored three goals and provided two assists in 14 matches this season.
Yanga currently leads the league table with 62 points from 24 matches, including 20 wins, two draws, and two losses.
They will face Mashujaa on Sunday in their bid to win their 12th league title.
Musonda appeared in two matches during the 2023 Afcon tournament, where he performed admirably despite not scoring a goal.
He was also a member of the Chipolopolo squad that competed in the Malawi-hosted Four Nations tournament, where Zambia finished third.
Musonda will hope to be named to Chipolopolo’s final squad, which will face Morocco and Tanzania in June.
Zambia will face the two nations in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
