Zambian international striker Evans Kangwa provided his seventh assist of the season for Qingdao Hainiu in a thrilling 4-3 defeat against Zhejiang in the Chinese Super League last Saturday.
Kangwa’s assist came in the 52nd minute, setting up Martin Boakye’s second goal to level the match at 2-2.
However, Qingdao Hainiu conceded twice more before Kangwa’s 73rd minute substitution , and Boakye completed his hattrick three minutes after Kangwa was withdrawn.
Zambian forward who now has ten goal involvement (3 goals and 7 assists) in 20 league appearances, was forced off with an injury.
Kangwa’s injury is a potential concern for national team coach Avram Grant, with the Chipolopolo boys set to face Ivory Coast and Sierra Leone in crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers next Month. The extent of Kangwa’s injury is still unclear.
He was part of the Zambia men’s national team that suffered disappointing results in their recent World Cup qualifiers, losing to both Morocco and Tanzania, which severely dented their hopes of reaching their first men’s senior World Cup.
