Chipolopolo midfielder Kings Kangwa continues to impress in the Israel Ligat Ha’al for Hapoel Beer Sheva, scoring his sixth goal of the season on Wednesday night.
Kangwa scored his team’s first goal in a 2-2 draw with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The 25-year-old has now been directly involved in 11 goals, scoring six and assisting five in 16 games.
Kangwa signed a four-year contract with Beer Sheva in August, after leaving Red Star Belgrade. The midfielder returned to the club six years after appearing in the club’s youth team during the 2017/2018 season, where he scored nine goals in all competitions, and he has quickly established himself as an important member of the squad.
“So far so good. We are working hard as a team, and personally, it’s been fantastic,” Kangwa said in an interview. “So I am just looking forward to finishing strong, keeping enjoying my football here, contributing to the team, and hopefully winning the title at the end of the season.”
Beer Sheva is currently topping the table with 35 points, just one point above defending champions Maccabi Tel Aviv.
After winning the league three years in a row—2015/2016, 2016/2017, and 2017/2018—they have yet to win it again in the last six seasons and will be hoping to end their drought.
