Zambian midfielder Kelvin Kampamba has recovered from a calf muscle injury that kept him out of action for a month.
Kampamba, who joined Libyan club Al Nasr from Zesco United in February, suffered the injury in a match against AL Anwar, forcing him to miss last month’s Four Nations tournament in Malawi, where Zambia finished third after defeating Malawi and losing on penalties to Zimbabwe.
“It’s good to be back,” he said in an exclusive interview with BolaNews. “I can’t wait to start doing what I like doing best, helping the team achieve the objective.”
Kampamba is also ready for the World Cup qualifiers with the Chipolopolo Boys in June.
“I’m definitely looking forward to the back-to-back games in June if I will be among those players who are going to be selected,” he added.
Since joining Al Nasr, the former Nkana FC attacker has earned one man-of-the-match award and provided an assist in four matches.
Kampamba is expected to play for Al Nasr against Ahly Benghazi in the Libyan league on April 22, 2024.
Al Nasr currently leads the standings with 34 points from 14 matches.
