Nchanga Rangers goalkeeper Victor Chabu believes that, after helping his team earn promotion to the Zambian Super League, it is now time for him to prove himself to the national team.
Chabu is one of 27 players named to Avram Grant’s provisional team for next month’s Group E 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Morocco and Tanzania.

The Nchanga Rangers shot-stopper has had a fantastic season with his side this season. He helped them return to the Super League and compete in the 2024 ABSA Cup tournament.
Chabu also won the Golden Gloves award in the ABSA Cup despite being eliminated in the quarterfinals.
Chabu featured in 31 matches and managed to keep 19 clean sheets this season for the Chingola side.
He tells Bolanews in an exclusive interview that he is looking to him to prove himself on the national team.
“On the national team call-up, I won’t relax because I have been called by coach Avram Grant,” he said. “What I need to do now is put in hard work and prove myself on the pitch.”
He added, “I have played well with Nchanga Rangers; what is remaining now is to represent my country well. I am happy and I promise to work hard,” said Chabu.
According to FAZ, the Chipolopolo will camp in Europe before heading to Morocco for the encounter with the Atlas Lions on June 7th.
Four days later, they will face Tanzania at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
