Green Buffaloes goalkeeper Francis Mwansa says Victor Chabu deserves to be part of the Chipolopolo boys squad following his impressive performance with newly promoted Zambian Super League side, Nchanga Rangers.
Mwansa, is currently training with the national team that is preparing for the upcoming June 7 clash against Africa’s best side, Morocco.
Avram Grant has called up 27 players, including Victor Chabu, after his outstanding performance this season, which led his team to the 2024 ABSA Cup quarterfinals.
Mwansa has previously been a regular feature for the national team and was also part of the Chipolopolo squad that participated at the 2023 AfCON tournament won by host nation, Ivory Coast in January.
He also played a vital role to help his side secure promotion to the Super League as they emerged winners of the 2023/24 National Division One league.
Mwansa told Bolanews in an exclusive interview that Victor but needs to fight hard to earn a place in the final selection side from the 27 players called to camp.
“I watched the ABSA Cup, and his performance was good, and he deserves to be called to the National team, he was named best goalkeeper of the ABSA Cup”.
“But when it comes to the National team, he has to tune his mind and work hard and keep fighting for a place in the starting eleven,” said Mwansa.
