Edward Chilufya, a Zambian winger, will now don the colors of Swedish side BK Häcken following his loan transfer from Danish club Midtjylland until the summer of 2024.
The Chipolopolo star returns to Sweden, where he played for Djurgårdens IF where he scored 17 goals with 9 assists in 71 appearances.
Chilufya, nicknamed as “Chilu Tiger”, makes his return to Sweden, where he previously played for Djurgårdens IF before his €3.5 million transfer to Midtjylland in 2022. While in Denmark, Edward only managed to score six time in 61 appearances.
BK Häcken will employ his services as they aim to beat the Zambian’s former club, Djurgårdens to yet another league title this season. The club manager, Martin Ericsson, describes Chilufya as a player who possesses an “X-factor” that could win games for the club.
Speaking in an interview after his loan signing to BK Hacken, Chilufya said, “I feel good to be here at Häcken. It’s a pleasure. This is a good team that is organized and playing European games [this season]. Last year they were champions.”
“I want to score more goals this time around,”-Edward.
The midfielder is excited to be playing European games. He admitted, “It’s a dream come true. It means a lot to every footballer, as they want to play in Europe.
Chilufya also reveals that he aims to unleash his goalscoring exploits this season. “I want to score more goals than I did the last time I was in Sweden. I have to score as many as I can”, the 23-year-old responded.
The Kasama-born winger, who will wear number 17, admitted how eager he is to showcase his football wizardry in front of his new aficionados.

BK Häcken will be counting on the midfielder to add some firepower to their attack as they defend their league title and compete in the group stage of the 2023–24 UEFA Europa League.
