Following his retirement from football, 36-year-old former Zambia national team attacking midfielder Given Singuluma has acquired a CAF C coaching license.

The CAF C coaching license is Africa’s fourth-highest coaching qualification, below the CAF B and A, as well as the CAF Pro license, which is equivalent to any high-ranking coaching qualification globally.

After 15 years of playing football, Singuluma has explained to BolaNews that he decided to become a coach to help share the experience and knowledge that he acquired during his playing days.

He, however, disclosed in an exclusive interview that despite having his coaching credentials since last year, he has not yet applied for any coaching positions.

“I got my FAZ D license and CAF C license last year, I haven’t yet applied for any coaching job at any club or academy,” he said.

After gaining the CAF C license, Singuluma will now have to practice for at least two years before going for the CAF B, and the former TP Mazembe attacker, who is now a well-known Zambian Super League pundit on Super Sports TV, said he has bigger plans for his new coaching career as he wants to contribute positively to the growth of the game.

Singulama is best known for his illustrious football career at Congo DR side TP Mazembe, where he won 3 CAF Champions League titles, 2 CAF Confederation Cups, 3 Super Cups, and 8 Congolese league titles.

He also made 34 appearances for Zambia and scored 6 goals after making his debut in 2006.

Singuluma was part of the Chipolopolo squad at the 2010 and 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
