In the aftermath of an outing that saw the Copper Bullets obliterate the Cranes of Uganda 3-0 after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Egypt, Avram Grant’s side has climbed up in the October Fifa rankings.

A brace from Patson Daka sandwiched by a Fashion Sakala header was enough for the Chipolopolo to punish Uganda in Dubai just over a week ago.

As a result, the Copper Bullets have been elevated in the latest release of the FIFA Men’s World Rankings from 82nd to 81st in the world while maintaining 16th in Africa.

The Chipolopolo now eye a top 80 slot for the first time in four years.

On the world stage, Argentina, France, and Brazil remain in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions, respectively. The biggest gainers in the top 10 are Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal, who have moved from 8th to 6th in the world.

Meanwhile, Morocco remains at the pinnacle of African football, ranking 13th in the world, while African champions Senegal close out the top 20 list.

The North African trio of Tunisia, Algeria, and Egypt still maintain 3rd, 4th, and 5th positions on the continent, respectively.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon come next in the CAF section of the FIFA World Rankings. Meanwhile, Mali, Ivory Coast, and Burkina Faso complete Africa’s top 10.

South Africa tops the rankings in the COSAFA region while also climbing from 65th to 64th in the FIFA men’s world rankings.
