Kenya Men’s National team head coach Benny Mccarthy has indicated his team’s preparedness ahead of the upcoming TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024.
Mccarthy has named a 30 member provisional squad and have already begun preparations for the Upcoming tournament.
The Harambee stars will be participating in the competition for the first time as they will co-host the tournament with Uganda and Tanzania.
Despite, being freshmen in the Competition, Kenya will be seeking to stage a strong performance on their debut appearance in front of their home fans.
However, Speaking to Cafonline in an interview, Mccarthy expressed confidence in his named squad to deliver for the Country.
“In three weeks, we’ll have a team that no one wants to face. We are preparing the best way possible because I believe we have selected a strong, competitive squad. Everyone is eager for this challenge,”said Mccarthy.
Meanwhile, since being unveiled by Kenya early this year, this will be Mccarthy’s first tournament as head coach and he will be expected to deliver a strong result for the East African side.
Kenya is in Group A alongside DR Congo, Morocco and Zambia.
The hosts will begin their campaign on 3rd August with a tie against the DR Congo.
