Zesco United will face Jwaneng Galaxy in the deciding encounter of the CAF Confederations Cup at Francistown’s Obed Itani Chilume Stadium on Saturday in their quest to secure a slot in the group stages of the competition.
And Zesco United interim head coach Emmanuel Siwale is delighted with the team’s preparedness ahead of their match against Jwaneng Galaxy.
The away team will enter this match with an advantage after they beat their opponents 4-3 in the second round, first leg, at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium last Saturday.
Since 2021, no Zambian team has reached the group stages of the CAF Confederations Cup, and the nine times Zambian champions will be seeking to change this narrative.
However, speaking to the club’s media, Siwale is upbeat ahead of the match.
“We are going there to play the second half. We played the first half in Ndola, which we won, but the two legs are not yet over, so we are going for the second leg, and we have prepared very well, and I am looking forward to the game on Saturday,” he said.
“What was important is to win, and that win will take us somewhere, but even where we are going, we have to go and win. We have prepared adequately, the morale is high, and the boys know what is at stake. Qualifying for the group stages will be a very good job the boys would have done,” noted Siwale.
Meanwhile, Zesco United only need a draw to progress to the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup.
