Zambian midfielder Clatous Chama scored his first goal for Young Africans (Yanga FC) in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League on Saturday.
Prior to the 2024–25 season, Chama—who had previously played for Simba SC—joined Yanga. He scored the first goal for the Tanzanian champions, who easily defeated Vital’O, a Burundese team, 4-0.
His compatriot Kennedy Musonda was also introduced in the second half.
Meanwhile, reacting after the match, the 33-year-old was thrilled to open his scoring account for Yanga in the Champions League.
“I am delighted to score my first goal as Mwananchi today and continue the @CAFCLCC (CAF Champions League) goal scoring record,” he wrote on his X account.
The Tanzanian champions will host the Burundese in Dar es Salaam next weekend and will aim to seal their progression to the next round of the competition.
