Real Madrid will host Barcelona in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final at the Santiago Bernabeu this evening.

Los Blancos defeated local rivals Atletico Madrid 3-1 to progress this far, while the Catalonia side defeated Real Sociedad 1-0.

Carlo Ancelotti will be looking for an improved performance from his charges in this game after recording a 1-1 draw, against Atletico Madrid over the weekend.

The Los Blancos will be without, Rodrygo, David Alaba due to injuries, and but they will be banking on Vinicius Jr, Benzema, with support from Luka Modric.

Meanwhile, La Liga pacesetters, Barcelona, head to the Bernabeu after a shock 1-0 defeat to Almeria.

Xavi will be going into this game without two of his key players, Robert Lewandowski and Pedri who are out injured, and this may have a negative impact on their game plan.

Barcelona will be banking on Ansu Fati to start together with Ferran Torres and Raphinha to inspire them to victory.

In their last five games, Los Blancos has won four and only drawn once, while Barcelona has won twice, drawn once, and lost two consecutive matches.

Since 2021, Ancelotti’s side has won 4 of the EL Classico games and Barcelona 2, with no draw recorded between them.

Their last meeting was in the Super Cup which saw Barcelona beat Madrid 1-3 away to lift the trophy.
