In preparation for their 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Namibia and Liberia, Malawi National Football Team coach Kalisto Pasuwa has selected a 26-man squad.
The Flames will host Liberia at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe three days after playing Namibia in Francistown, Botswana, on September 5, 2025.
Notable names include Henry Kumwenda, a US based striker, and Richard Mbulu and Lloyd Njaliwa, both forwards from Mozambique.
Zambia-based striker Chawanangwa Kaonga, and midfielder Robert Saizi, are also in the squad.
Tunisia, tops Group H with 16 points, followed by Equatorial Guinea, (13 points) and Malawi is second from bottom with 6 points from 6 games.
Namibia is third with 9 points, with Liberia following. Sao Tome and Principe are at the bottom with zero points.
The Flames will regroup in Lilongwe on Thursday, 28th August 2025, to begin preparations for the two crucial fixtures.

Coach Pasuwa said he is hoping for positive results despite Malawi being out of the race.
“These are competitive matches; we plan to win both games without considering our past performance,” he said.
Pasuwa, justified the inclusion of Mayele and Kumwenda, in his provisional squad.
“Hopefully, they will grant us our desires,” he remarked.
