Vipers SC to camp in Zambia ahead of 2023-24 season

The Ugandan team will compete in a pre-season tour involving Zesco United, Zanaco FC, and Red Arrows.

Ugandan Champions Vipers SC will hold their pre-season camping tour in Zambia with a number of friendly matches lined up.

The Ugandan team will compete in a preseason competition against Zesco United, Zanaco FC, and Red Arrows. The event will take place at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola will include four teams.

The competition is expected to start on August 3rd, 2023, and the Ugandan champions are expected in Zambia this week.

Vipers who are also Uganda’s CAF champions League representatives in the 2023/24 season are using the tournament to prepare for the African continental football as well shape up for the domestic league.

The three Zambian teams have since resumed their preseason tours after Red Arrows hosted a similar four-club competition at Nkoloma Stadium before to the start of the 2022–23 season.

For the upcoming four-team competition, Vipers have only taken the place of the Green Eagles, a Choma-based squad.

When they take on Jwaneng Galaxy F.C. of Botswana in the first preliminary round of the CAF champions League, the Ugandan champions will try to improve on their performance from last season, when they reached the Group stage.
