According to defender Jimmy Dzingai of CAPS United Football Club, the team is gradually adapting to Ian Bakala’s strategies.

Makepekepe defeated Manica Diamonds 1–0 in a Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League Week 14 match, but they are still two points above the relegation zone and could yet be relegated.

Speaking to the club’s media, Dzingai said he was certain that, with Bakala’s guidance, the team could escape the relegation zone.

“I think we are going to make it because they [coaches] have introduced some new tactics. And I think the guys, including me, all of us, are coping with what they are telling us. So, what they are coaching us, we can make it happen,” Dzingai said.

The seasoned defender, who also played in the Zambian Premier League for Power Dynamos and Nkana, says he is applying his knowledge to assist the squad avoid relegation.

“As an experienced defender, I use my experience to talk to other defenders who play the same role with me so that we can achieve better results. Defenders, they win titles, so I will also do my best to help the other defenders that we have yet.”

Since taking charge at CAPS, Bakala has signed Chitoshi Chinga, a defender from Nkana FC of Zambia and Congolese striker Chris Mugalu from Forest Rangers of Zambia. Bakala believes the additions will bring fresh power to the team.

Bakala’s team will play their home game against Chicken Inn on Saturday at 15:00.
