FCB Nyasa Big Bullets are disappointed that the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has appointed its head coach, Kallisto Pasuwa, to lead the Flames under-23 squad in the next Cosafa tournament in South Africa.
FAM general secretary Alfred Gunda confirmed the decision to engage the Zimbabwean coach to lead the Flames U-23.
The club claims they were not told about the appointment.
The U23 team was intended to be under Flames head coach Patrick Mabedi. However, he will not be available as he will be with the senior team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, where the Flames will play against Sao Tome on June 6 before facing Equatorial Guinea four days later.
BolaNews sources have revealed that Bullets are not happy with the move.
“Look, FAM has announced that without our knowledge,” an insider from the club told BolaNews. “How is that possible? Pasuwa is contracted with us, this means that FAM was supposed to contact us first. We will not allow Pasuwa to coach U23 unless FAM writes to us.”
Pasuwa joined Bullets in 2018 as head coach. Since his arrival in Malawi, he has never lost the league, winning it back-to-back.
