The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been ruled out of the Africa Cup of Nations due to injury.
The midfielder was called up for the tournament, which begins on the 13th of the month in Ivory Coast, alongside his Leicester City teammate Kelechi Iheanacho, who is also said to be injured.

Ndidi and Iheanacho were both left out of the Foxes’ matchday squad for their 4-1 win over Huddersfield on New Year’s Day due to injury according to manager Enzo Maresca.
The NFF has since confirmed today that Ndidi has withdrawn from the squad due to injury.
They also confirmed that Iheanacho, who has missed his club’s last two games, is still working to be available.
“Midfielder Alhassan Yusuf replaces injured Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho is still hopeful to join the team before AFCON commences.”
The Super Eagles of Nigeria are in Group A alongside hosts Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissua.
