Chipolopolo captain Lubambo Musonda has declared himself and the team ready for this afternoon’s match against Ivory Coast.
Zambia needs just one point from their final two games to qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
“We have had a very good time in camp. The past weeks have been intense, and everyone is prepared for the game,” the AC Horsens winger said.
Lubambo also stated that his team is not taking the game lightly, declaring it a must-win.
“We are not taking it lightly; we have to win the game at all costs,” he confidently said. “As far as I am concerned, our team is good enough to win the game.”
Meanwhile, on how psychologically ready he is after suffering relegation from the top flight with his club in Denmark, the captain stated that he is always ready to don the national colours and that won’t affect his performance.
“On a personal note, I am always ready for any challenge. The fact that my team got relegated does not mean I am bad as a player. Of course I am looking forward to the game and hoping to give everything.”
