Due to the poor condition of the Setsoto National Stadium, Lesotho will host the Chipolopolo Boys away from home.
CAF banned Setsoto Stadium from hosting official international matches more than two years ago. This forced Lesotho to play home matches in South Africa.
Despite numerous requests by the Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) to the government, nothing was done until Setsoto Stadium was banned.
In a letter dated January 26, 2023, the Lesotho Sports and Recreation Commission (LSRC) said the government had no money to rehabilitate the stadium.
“The status of Setsoto Stadium has not changed. The concerns raised by CAF have not yet been attended to,” LSRC responded.
