The much anticipated 2023 AFCON qualifier match between Zambia and Lesotho is finally here.
Only hours remain before the two nations lock horns at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium with the Chipolopolo hoping to use the home-ground advantage to grab a win tonight.
Currently level on three points with Comoros, a victory for Zambia would take them above Group H leaders Ivory Coast who have 4 points.
Lesotho, on the other hand, are bottom with one point but a victory in today’s game would put them above Zambia.
Chipolopolo faithfuls will be banking on the vastly experienced coach Avram Grant to get the best out of stars like Leicester City’s Patson Daka, Rangers’ Fashion Sakala, and Italy-based rapid winner Lameck Banda, among others, to secure three points.
Meanwhile, Serbia-based midfielder Kings Kangwa has promised to score one goal against the Likuena tonight.
When asked by BolaNews reporters after the Chipolopolo finished their evening training session at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Wednesday how many goals he would score in today’s game, Kangwa casually responded, “One goal.”
The talented midfielder is no stranger to putting the ball in the back of the net for both club and country.
Kangwa, who is currently playing in the highest echelons of Serbian football, has five goals in 23 appearances for Crvena Zvezda, who are at the top of their league.
In Zambia’s last qualifier game against Comoros, Kangwa was on hand to score the winning goal with a pinpoint free kick in the dying minutes as the game ended 2-1.
On Sunday, Zambia will travel to South Africa to face Lesotho in what will be perceived as an away match for Avram Grant’s men.
